As we move closer to the anticipated launch window dates of July 30 through August 10th, we just wanted to say "Thank You" for all of the e-mails and feedback.

Many members of this forum have been in contact with our group from the start, and we appreciate your time, interest, donations and efforts these past months!  This would not be possible without all of you.  The goal of a kiteboarding event to raise funds and awareness for Children's Hospital will be a success due to you!

While we've been silent in this last month, we've been fixing some things around Kiteatlas.com. You can read a list of the most important fixes below:

  • Invitations: finally the Invitations problem that prevented invited friends to show up in your Buddylist has been fixed. Now the invites you send at http://www.kiteatlas.com/invite do update their status regularly. Thanks you all for the feedbacks!
  • Forward, Print, Add to favourites: now you can use the icons on the top of the sidebar respectively to forward a friend, print or bookmark any page on Kiteatlas.com.
  • Google Maps update: big brother Google has updated the code of their maps, and so we are keeping up-to-date with it. That's why you probably didn't see the maps but just a blank space in the last 24 hours. Now this is fixed!
  • Possibility to add more images to blog posts: now you can ad more than one picture to your blogrolls. Check here how.
  • Other minor tweaks: we fixed the display of events, the contact forms, the spots galleries and other smaller updates to the site.

Other than this, we are working for introducing soon new cool features to our community. We can anticipate you that there will be even more integration with mapping and locative informations ;)

US Wind & Water Open

The Velocity Games, the city's kiteboarding, skateboarding and windsurfing competition, is changing its name just two months after a new sports marketing firm acquired rights to the event.

Jessica Davila-Burnett, president of Epic Sports and Entertainment LP, announced the event will be renamed the U.S. Wind & Water Open beginning with the 2007 competition on May 11-13.

PKRA Austria 2007

The Austrian round of the PKRA held at Neusiedl See closed with only one day of competition. After a slow start peaking out at 18 knots, the wind kept holding back since the second day of the competition, picking up speed in the morning and dying in the afternoon. Scattered clouds and morning showers kept the temperatures low. Spectators, judges and athletes managed to enjoy their time with off-competition activities and leisure activities as bungee jumping, paint ball shooting and awarding ceremony.
