Probably one of the most popular beaches on the Island of Wight, also due to the "White Air Festival" competition that takes place here every october, Yaverland is a very reliable spot thanks to it's superb bay catering for some 270 degrees of wind. During strong storms waves can reach big heights of up to 2 meters.
With it's fairly wide sandy beach and the gently shelving bottom that allows waist-deep water at low tide, this spot is an ideal place for kitesurf and windsurf beginners.
