Smile beach is an enormous 32km² North shore lagoon. This beach is the main accessible and safe access to the lagoon, well maintained by the local school staff, free from obstacles, stones and vegetation.
The lagoon offers exceptional conditions for beginners as well as advanced kitesurfers since it is shallow with a soft sandy ground and without currents or any obstacles in the water. Beginners will find their first steps very easy in the absence of waves, current and the need to swim. Advanced kiters will find it easy to train and dial-in their favourite tricks in these “laboratory” conditions. Any kiter may simply walk back to the shore throughout the whole lagoon.

Wind details:
• Wind: the wind blows year-round a laminar 3-6 Bft. breeze across the island. Summers are lighter with N and NE winds (side onshore on the GLOBALKITE) spots, averaging 12-15 knots. Winter brings stronger winds and a decent swell, giving beginners the chance to train with smaller kites and having advanced kiters explore the 3rd dimension with intermediate-sized kites.
