Barra do Cunhaú is a great spot in the Natal area. Here you get all in one: a beautiful scenery with wide beaches in a tranquil atmosphere, a huge lagoon where you can find perfect flat water, or outside on the Beach, smaller waves (right beachside), and bigger waves (left beachside).
It´s perfect for biginners too, because there isn´t any crowd, and the spot offers a big stand-deep aera for practice the first steps. Check out the other kite and surfbeaches round Barra do Cunhaú. There are many accomodations, one hotel direct to spot, some restaurants, a bar. For those who want party until morning, there is 15 minutes drive the famous small surfervillage Praia do Pipa. Here you can find a lot of restaurants, bars, shops, disco and people from all over the world.

The distance from airport to Barra do Cunhaú is about 1 hour drive (85km). Take the bus or drive by car from airport south via street number BR101. After about 70km you turn left direct to street number RN269. By the way you pass Canguaretama. After 15 km you are in Barra do Cunhaú.

Go Surfing here in Barra do Cunhaú or in Praia do Pipa. In Pipa there is a spot where the brazilien competitions are held each year. Or go horseback riding, make some trips with the buggy or 4x4, go Wakeboarding in the lagoon or make some jungletrips by boat. Fishingtours are available too.
Night scene:
There are some restaurants with good food and a bar. On weekends in the small center of Barra do Cunhaú are a lot of people - dancing, musik, drinks and food, but normaly here is a quiet place, for sportsmen and romantic evenings. If you want party, plenty of bars, disco til morning, and a lot of people all over the world, go to famous Pipa. I think there is a taxiservice between Cunhaú and Pipa. About 15 minutes drive.
