Overview:
Lagoon that runs along the coastline just 900 mt of the main beach.Flat water conditions,mostly sandy bottom, clear and waters.Its possible to kite here with all kinds of wind directions.There are islands in the middle, and most of the lagoon has shallow waters, so pretty good for beginners.If you exit near the riactiva kitesurf school, you can have supervision and boat rescue if needed.This is not really a lagoon, its a river delta, so the water is the same as in the sea,only much warmer(summer 20-23 degrees) and there are tides too.

From Porto or Lisboa take the A1 to Aveiro, and then the A25 to the beach(praias),when at the beach, just follow the lagoon to south(5 min).

The wind chanels better when its pure North.Better conditions when there are no clouds,the termals work better.Somedays you have more 5 kt in the lagoon than the beach spots, specially in the light wind days.

Biking,horse riding, discovering the channels of the lagoon, visiting Aveiro, also known as the venice of Portugal-due to its many channels crossing the city, discovering the tradicional fishermen at work in the lagoon or at the beach, fish market, the ligthhouse at barra beach, and much more.
Night scene:
Some bars in Costa Nova, but the movida is in 'praça do peixe' in the center of Aveiro.
