Beach rules:
Like any spot that is good for surfing, give the right away to the surfers that are paddling in, if they are in the line up. Also, be respectful of the locals. Practice good wave riding etiquette by not short jibing other kiters that are further up the point, get into the rotation..... and take your turn. If you are jumping around on a twin tips and guys are kiting the waves, get out of the waves and jump around in the bay out of the way. Don't leave trash on the beach.
Weather:
Mancora is gifted with amazing weather year around. With the clashing of the warm and cool ocean currents just to the south, a great micro climate has been created. The average air temperature 80°F all year with cool nights. The ocean water in and around Mancora is trunks 365 days a year. There is the off chance that you will need a spring suit to cut some chill from the wind. Keep in mind that the water just 45 min south is much colder and full suits are mandatory in the winter and spring suit to shorty in the summer. The water temp is very dependent on the currents.

Water details:
The water here is beautiful. In Mancora you have everything from the point which has a great left hand peeling wave that is pretty easy to kite on to beach break launch ramps that are more down in the bay. The point starts off as cobble stone rocks that on a low tide can be exposed and will take your fins right off. High tide there is nothin to worry about. the inside of the point is all sand.

Night scene:
Some bars and restaurants in Mancora. Be very careful where you eat, as many beach front shacks lack refrigeration. Samana Chakra restaurant is excellent, and Geko's great for pizza and garlic bread - both owned by kiters
