Webcams:

Los Barriles is a great sandy spot perfect to practice your wave style thanks to his great shore break.
All the beach of Los barriles is a big spot, but the best place is in Playa Norte , in the north-east side of the beach.

Getting there:

La Paz airport

Nearest big city:

La Paz

Nearest town:

Los Barriles

Access:

Directions:

You should be flying into the Los Cabos Airport (also known as San Jose Del Cabo Airport). If you're flying into La Paz, you'll be dealing with a navigation challenge through the desert and a much longer trip.
From Cabo airport, you can take a taxi (about an $80 1 hour trip), a bus (about a $5 2-3 hour adventure) or rent a car (weekly $150 - 400).

If driving, simply follow highway 1 from the airport North to Los Barriles. When you get to Kilometer 110 turn off the highway to the right, into Los Barriles.
Then drive until you find an "arroyo" (a large open beach where the rain runs off from the mountains during the rainy season), with off-road access, to set up and rig your gear.

Beach rules:

Small to medium rounded rocks along the water line sit very loose along about 70% of the coastline. Watch your step as it could be very easy to loose your balance or sprang an ankle walking over them.

Watch for larger rocks and small reefs in waters less than 15 feet deep. They sometimes show their heads at low tide, but mostly sit waiting for you to crash on them. There's not a lot, but enough to make a great session end fast.

Weather:

The wind from north can be cold, so a shorty or even a long wet suit could help.
