Overview:
The bay in front of Alghero has a long sandy beach which can get crowded in summer.
It's a good freeride spot protected by the craggy "Capo Caccia". It can rarely get some of Sardinia's biggest waves breaking 800 meters from the shore on a reef to the right of the small Maddalenedda island. Look out for rocks near Maddalenedda.
