The reliable winds of Sotavento are legendary and the temperatures of the water and air are comfortable all year long, summer and winter. Huge sandy beaches make the launching of the kite easy.

Directions:

Fly to Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura (FUE). Then head south by car or bus to Costa Calma (80Km). Turn left when you see the sign to `Sol Gorriones`. Pass the hotel to the left and drive down to the beach. You can park directly at the beach.

Almost every day from spring to fall. Can be very gusty (anything between 3-8 Bft, sometimes stronger) and sideoffshore most of the times. Winter can have South or East winds, more constant, but less strong and not that often.

Since the wind is side-offshore most of the times, you have small waves with chop close to the beach, beach break. The further you get out the bigger the waves. The ocean is deep immediately. At high tide there can be a big shallow area in the lagoon, only at very high waters.
