Crossing Lake Michigan: A Kiteboarding Challenge
Help wanted:
looking for a rider able to endure long hours of boredom interspersed with moments of pure panic. Good hand/eye coordination are helpful. Must like the outdoors and enjoy spending time in the water.
Ideal candidate will be physically fit, have own equipment, be able to train without pay for an extended period and have access to a large watercraft for a trans-lake excursion in early August of 2007.
Pay is low. Very, very low. In fact, nonexistent. This job will be a one time non contractual fund raiser for charity. Rewards are intrinsic: helping others, giving back to society, doing the right thing, personal growth, development, challenge, blisters, chafing, heat rash, sticking it to the man, cheating death, and/or whatever else this accomplishment would mean to you.
Applicants should have proof of current health care coverage and be willing to sign waivers releasing all sponsors, participants, and yours truly from any and all liability if you should bite it while out in the middle of the lake. It is much easier to do a fund raiser when no one has to worry about being sued.
Interested applicants should forward a letter of introduction and interest to: XLakeMI@gmail.com.
