From Santa Marianita - Ecuador - on behalf of Humboldt Kites School it is a pleasure to invite you to the International Kite boarding Competition “Sprite Cup”.
Were aside from great prices, good party, warm water and excellent wind you will also get a panoramic view of the fabulous Humpback whales that visit our coast every year.
Here are some details of the competition:
Event: International Kiteboarding Competition “Sprite Cup”
Dates: 13 to 17 of August 2008.
Place: Santa Marianita Beach and Murciélago Beach. Manta –Ecuador.
Time: 10:00 to 16:00.
Sign in Fee: 100 USD. (Includes a Sprite rashguard and a Liquid Force T-shirt)
Type of event: Freestyle and Long Distance. Kite Cross (demonstration event only)
Categories: Men’s Open and Sport; Woman’s Sport.
Prize: 8,000 USD in prizes.
Accommodations: Free for the 15 first competitors that sign in (contact us by e-mail). There will also be a special rate of 10-15 USD/day, included breakfast, for all other participants in excellent hotels.
Local Transportation: From Hotels to the beach will be provided to all participants.
Kite equipment storage: Will be provided at a safe location on the beach.
Party: West End Discotec
Hydration: Provided during the event by Sprite and Red Bull.

Transportation cost from the city of Guayaquil to Manta: 5 – 10 USD.
Transportation cost from the city of Quito to Manta: Airplane 110 USD (we are still searching for a special rate for our participants). Bus 10 – 15 USD.
Average meal cost: 2.50 – 7 USD.
Average cost of accommodations in hostel with breakfast, hot water, air conditioner and cable TV: 10-20 USD.
