NewKiteZone.it, Bluocean and Aicw.it presents the first "Crossing Race" Longdistance race for kites and windsurfs in south Italy in Reggio Calabria, a fantastic spot, in the opposite side of Sicily.

We try to travel through the Classical History, on the ancient way between Magna Grecia traits of Hellenic civilization.
A 3 days of: freestyle exibitions, free-trials, top-speed contest, hangtime contest, music, **parties, sport and entertainment full-time in a turistic city [250.000 citizen] all over the sea in the center of
summer....!!! 
The "Crossing Race" is the first time organized race that involve kites and windsurf to run from Reggio Calabria - Messina and return!
We will color the sea between Italy and Sicily by kites and windsurf.

Who: Expert rider, no beginners.
Dates: 24-25-26 Jul 2008

Usable Airports: Reggio Calabria (0km), Lamezia Terme (120Km), Catania (120Km).
Cost: 60,00 Euro
Distance: 10km x 2 (about)
Difficulties: resistance for legs: on side of longdistance on one side x 20/25 minutes, strong currents and wind range variabilty: 20kts -5/+10kts.
Support: total, with 15 safety boats, 1 airplain, istitutional presence [Police, Cost Lifeguards...] and Safety equipment:(waterproof mobile bag + mirror)
Mandatory: floating device, wetsuit, NO BOARD LEASHS.
Advised: helmet and water reserve.
Limits: 50/60 kites, 120 windsurf [delayed starting]
