The new GENETRIX HYDRA V3 2008 is not a dream any more.
I will be the first how will have the new Hydra V3 here in Panama and will test it in December.
But here some specification about the only FLAT KITE on the market.

Hydra V3 14m Genetrix kite
I have to say that Genetrix work good on the new generation of hydra V3. I’m a big guy ( 2m and 95kg)
So I try the 14m Genetrix Hydra V3 and big difference from the 2007 model.
Turning fast, more power full, bigger wind range.
I do kite loops and everything I want with this 14m , jumping realy high, rotation, etc etc with any problem and with only 12 knots I start all my tricks.
If you never try a Flat kite , I suggest you to try it , I think that Flat kite is the new revalution of kiting. So much power and so easy to control that you will be able to ride with big gust with any problem.
Plus for beginner is the most easy kite to start . I teach kitesurfing and all my students are riding on the board after 6 to 10 hours private classe.
Also the full depower system is so safe that student are not a fright to send the kite in the power zone and be pull 20 meter on the beach.
The first safty system is let the bar go and everything stop immediately. All kiters know that most of the time you will never have the time to pull the quick release at time when you have a problem but let the bar, so quick and so easy.
Just to come back to the test of the hydra V3 14m, I use from 12 to 30 knots this wind range is incredible.
To go up wind, again this kite is unbelievable, with is wide front leading edge no supprise that this kite go better up wind.
Anecdote : my kite flight in the trees and we had to work 2 hours with 4 people to get him down.
Pulling on the lines like creazy and after we get the kite down we had to attach 2 lines on a car and pull until the branch of the tree break to get the bar down.
I was thinking that my kite was for the trash but no, my hydra V3 had nothing, no one hole, no bladders leak, no lines break, just perfect like new.
So,I can say that the quality of the textile is very very but very strong.
